Other Sheep makes historic meeting at Metropolitan Community Churhces 2013 General Conference

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. STAN KIMER.  JULY 4, 2013.  On Wednesday evening of July 3rd at the General Conference of Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) meeting in Chicago, Illinois, Other Sheep Board Member and MCC Pastor Rachelle Brown led an historic meeting.

Following a workshop service, over 40 people – primarily Hispanic/Latinos(as) Spanish-speaking attendees from US churches and from a dozen different churches in the Caribbean, Central / Latin America, Mexico and Puerto Rico –  gathered at 9 PM in a conference room.

MCC Elder Rev. Hector Gutierrez led much of the discussion which was in Spanish. Interpretation headsets were provided to non-Spanish speaking attendees.

Rev Michael Kimindu of Other Sheep Africa, Nairobi, Kenya, and Stan Kimer, chairperson of Other Sheep (international) provided greetings from Other Sheep.  When Stan Kim said he was bringing greeting from John Doner and Tom Hanks, many nodded their heads in recognition and acknowledgement. Other Sheep (Otras Ovejas) begain in Latin America in 1992.

Kimer shared how excited he was to see 40 people at the historic gathering.  Kimer stated that his vision and hope is for this Hispanic gathering to increase 5 fold.

Kimer, focusing on Africa and Rev. Kimindu of Kenya, told the gathering that at MCC General Conference 2016, he would that there might be a gathering of this size (40 people) for African MCCers as we continue collaborative MCC and Other Sheep work in Africa.
