Other Sheep working with JourneyPress since 2005

Other Sheep and associates with Other Sheep in different parts of the world, in cooperation with JourneyPress, have translated The Children Are Free into Spanish, Burmese and Malayalam (an abridgement).  JourneyPress, since 2005, has gratuitously provided Other Sheep with hundreds of copies of The Children Are Free which Rev. Stephen Parelli and Jose Ortiz have distributed in more than 20 countries throughout the world.

Other Sheep requests free online soft copies; LifeJourny already considers it

Recently, upon their return from their July and August 2014 travels, Rev. Parelli emailed Rev. Jeff Miner asking if it were possible to make The Children Are Free available at no charge online.  Parelli explained that Other Sheep gets repeated requests for the book in digital form.  Miner emailed that the idea had already been positively considered in the past at JourneyPress but that no action had been taken.

Other Sheep’s “push” – speaking to the known needs for the book in places in Africa and Asia – was a gentle reminder to JourneyPress that the idea, already in place at the Press, should perhaps be acted upon.  Miner emailed Parelli that a webpage would be created at JourneyPress whereby visitors to the webpage who qualified could read the book online at no charge.

Other Sheep notifies its readers

Now! Other Sheep is happy to announce to its many friends abroad, some living in very difficult, homophobic, dangerous countries, that the book that has changed lives, which Parelli and Ortiz have personally witnessed, is now available to read online (as an “online reader”) at no charge to those who qualify — thanks to JourneyPress!.

Thanks to JourneyPress and TCAF, for affording us windows of opportunity

Other Sheep sincerely thanks JourneyPress for their years of service with Other Sheep in giving hundreds of copies of The Children Are Free to Other Sheep for free distribution through the travels of Parelli and Ortiz.

By using the book in their travels, The Children Are Free has opened up doors of opportunity, has broken the ice (and even some walls), has been a defining reference point in discussing the Bible and homosexuality, and has emboldened its LGBT faith-based readers.

Other Sheep thanks JourneyPress for its years of service with Other Sheep, and now for making available in digital form free copies of The Children Are Free “for anyone who cannot afford the book or anyone who would be endangered if they possessed a hard copy of the book.”

I already have a hard & soft copy of this wonderful book. I also gave an audio copy to my mom for Christmas 2014, but she hasn’t even opened it. She’s also a conservative evangelical who believes the standard line that homosexuality is sinful. However, unlike your dad & sister, she is very loving and accepting of me despite her beliefs on the matter. (That’s why I gave her the book; she’s 84-1/2 with declining eyesight, thus the audio.)

A little about me: I was in ex-gay groups (Exodus International & Homosexuals Anonymous) off & on for 15 years before finally deciding in early 2001 to stop fighting & begin accepting that this is who I am. (Prior to 1985, I had sought traditional therapy, but no one knew how to help me.)

In the mid-’00s I learned of Evangelicals Concerned, Western Region (ecwr.org) which was a branch of Ralph Blair’s original Evangelicals Concerned (ecinc.org) in NYC. ECWR has since merged with the Gay Christian Network, while the original EC is still in existence. And it was thru ECWR that I learned of Jeff’s book which was a tremendous eye-opener for me to understand homosexuality.
