In an article titled “Leading evangelical ethicist David Gushee is now pro-LGBT – Here’s why it matters” released on the Internet under Religion News Service dated October 24, 2014, Johnathan Meritt, the author of the article, writes “Conservatives are about to learn that one of America’s leading evangelical ethicists is defecting to the opposition.”

Meritt reports that “David Gushee, a Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics at Mercer University, a Baptist college and divinity school in Georgia” will announce “that he now affirms same-sex relationships, in a speech to The Reformation Project Conference, a gathering of pro-LGBT Christians in Washington, on Nov. 8″ at which time David Crumm Media will release Gushee’s new book Changing Our Mind: A Call from America’s Leading Evangelical Ethics Scholar for Full Acceptance of LGBT Christians in the Church.
