From October 22 until November 7, Other Sheep Coordinator for Europe K. Renato Lings visited Spain.
In Barcelona, Lings spent four days, by invitation, with Carlos Osma, coordinator of Inclusive Protestants, a Christian LGBT group, where Renato gave a presentation entitled “Where You Go, I Will Go: The Importance of Same-sex Love in the Bible.” Thirty people attended. (See photo, above right. Lings is at far right in photo and Carlos Osma is sitting next to Lings.)
During his time in Barcelona, Lings was able to have an enjoyable lunch with Other Sheep Advisory Board member Enric Vilà and his partner Jordi.
In Madrid, Lings was invited by Aurelio Lepe, Other Sheep Advisory Board Member (in the above photo at left, Aurelio is standing behind Renato and slightly to the the left), to address a group of 12 people on the subject of “The Bible as a Source of Inspiration for LGBT People”. This was followed by an evening meal at a local restaurant. Lings comments, “In good Madrid style, the food was served between 11 and 11.30 p.m.!”
Lings reports that during his time in Madrid he “had a very interesting discussion with Alejandro Medel, pastor of Metropolitan Community Church Madrid”(in the above photo with the rainbow flags, Alejandro is second from the right).
Lings makes his home in Denmark.
