I already have a hard & soft copy of this wonderful book. I also gave an audio copy to my mom for Christmas 2014, but she hasn’t even opened it. She’s also a conservative evangelical who believes the standard line that homosexuality is sinful. However, unlike your dad & sister, she is very loving and accepting of me despite her beliefs on the matter. (That’s why I gave her the book; she’s 84-1/2 with declining eyesight, thus the audio.)
A little about me: I was in ex-gay groups (Exodus International & Homosexuals Anonymous) off & on for 15 years before finally deciding in early 2001 to stop fighting & begin accepting that this is who I am. (Prior to 1985, I had sought traditional therapy, but no one knew how to help me.)
In the mid-’00s I learned of Evangelicals Concerned, Western Region (ecwr.org) which was a branch of Ralph Blair’s original Evangelicals Concerned (ecinc.org) in NYC. ECWR has since merged with the Gay Christian Network, while the original EC is still in existence. And it was thru ECWR that I learned of Jeff’s book which was a tremendous eye-opener for me to understand homosexuality.
